The Mason Valley Beekeepers were created in 2008 and is a Nevada Non-Profit. Members are not only from Mason Valley but also from other northern Nevada communities including Smith, Wellington, Fernley, Silver Springs, Dayton, Carson City, Gardnerville/Minden, Elko, and Fallon.
The Mason Valley Beekeepers hosted the 15th annual beekeepers conference on February 20-22, 2025. They are enthusiastic about welcoming new people and new beekeepers. . An Introduction to Bees and Beekeeping workshop will be held January 25, 2025 in Yerington, Nevada. Members meet once a month from February through October. Their meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Catholic Center, 311 Virginia St, Yerington, Nevada. The members are mostly hobby and sideliner beekeepers. The club welcomes new beekeepers and have a mentoring program to support new beekeepers. Mason Valley Beekeepers manage bee colonies not only for honey production, but for the benefits it provides their homes and their communities. Mason Valley Beekeepers desire to enhance northern Nevada’s reputation as a ‘Bee-Friendly’ area which encourages the apiculture industry and advocates for increasing numbers of bee colonies in the area not only for economic reasons but for the betterment to our communities. |
